SUMMARY:Support Laurie Nowak and Lincoln's Birthday!
DESCRIPTION:Laurie Nowak is one of a only a few Democratic Board members.  While she represents just a small portion of Naperville Township\, It’s important that we help her keep her seat.  Please attend or otherwise support Laurie if possible… \n  \n  \n \n \nElephants are Red\, Donkeys are Blue \nVictory is Sweet\, And So Are You!!! \nBecause we LOVE our volunteers\, join us at a Valentine’s Party to recognize the many hard-working people who help local Democrats achieve VICTORY – Learn more about Democratic initiatives on the County Board\, and what YOU can do to keep the momentum going! \n  \nPlus we’ll be celebrating Lincoln’s birthday! And while we’re at it\, why not renew your New Year’s Resolutions – including the promise to Turn DuPage BLUE!!! \n  \nWhen: Saturday\, February 2/15\, 4pm-7pm \nWhere: Home of The Tomlinsons – 1S500 Taylor Road in Glen Ellyn  \nWhat: Volunteer Appreciation\, Snacks & Drinks\, Lincoln Birthday Cake\, Raffles\, & more! \nCost: None ~ Although donations are always welcome\, of course! \nWho/What to Bring: FRIENDS & FAMILY WELCOME!! Potluck dish to share?? – Optional! \n~ And don’t forget to bring some cash for a chance to win raffle prizes! \nSupporter Donation Levels (Optional):  $50   $100    $250    $500 \nPLEASE RSVP TO MARY LOU AT 773-310-2199 OR MARYLOUVILLANUEVA1@GMAIL.COM \n  \nWHY WE NEED YOUR WHOLE-HEARTED SUPPORT in 2014: \nLaurie is one of the hardest-working elected officials in DuPage\, choosing to be a Full Time Board Member who puts the Community first. She works tirelessly on progressive environmental initiatives\, is an outspoken advocate for government ethics\, and uses compassion and factual information to fight the heroin epidemic. She is also the ONLY Democrat on the DuPage County Board up for re-election this year.  There’s already a militant tea-partier and a “who’s who” corporate lobbyist gearing up to try to take her seat and return DuPage back to the regressive\, entitled\, hands-off status quo. . . \n  \n. . .So if you’re a Democrat in DuPage\, we need YOU and YOUR support every step of the way until victory day! \nGear up to be part of the solution\, and make it YOUR Vow to tell the DuPage GOP\, “Sorry\, but this seat’s taken!” \n  \nDIRECTION CLARIFICATION!: Tomlinson Home is at the intersection of McCormick & Taylor\, 1/2 mile south of Roosevelt Rd and 1/4 mile west of Route 53. \n  \nGoing south on 53 from Roosevelt go through the traffic light at Sheehan and turn right at the next block which is McCormick (not well marked). \n  \nGoing north on 53 from Butterfield turn left at the light at 22nd street/Buckingham\, drive ¼ mile to Taylor and turn right.  Taylor winds through 2 stop signs before ending at the intersection with McCormick. \n \n

SUMMARY:Fundraiser for Hope Defined Project
DESCRIPTION:The Hope Defined Project (read more about it here) produces a film for teens by teens in an effort to offer prevention and hope through creative expression. This year’s theme is on issues surrounding teen suicide. \nTo make this movie free for students\, they need financial support\, though sponsorship and donations. This is a non-profit 501c3\, and they are accepting donations. You can donate on their facebook page\, Facebook.com/HopeDefinedProject. \nTheir fundraiser is at The Wise Boxer Pour House 16 W. Jefferson Ave. Naperville\, IL 60540 on November 14th from 6:00pm-8:00pm. For a $50 donation at the door there will be food\, drinks\, speakers\, and a video screening about our project.  Larger donations carry even more exciting benefits.  All donations go to the support of teen suicide awareness.

SUMMARY:Petition Signature Arithmetic: 25 * 20 = 500 in 2 hours
DESCRIPTION:For those of you who didn’t receive the eVite for Sunday’s festivities\, here’s the message from Dianne and Brenna: \nHi everyone! \nWe have an opportunity this coming Sunday to truly make a difference! \nGovernor Pat Quinn will be announcing his choice for Lt. Governor later this week\, leaving him just under a month to gather up to 10\,000 signatures to place him on the ballot. \nEd Agustin\, our Precinct Committeeman of the Year 2012\, is our candidate for State Representative in District 41\, Darlene Senger’s old district\, which will be an open seat since she has decided to run against Bill Foster.  And Ed needs a minimum of 500 signatures to place him on the ballot\, with another 500 for insurance purposes! \nObviously\, neither of them can do this alone and this is where you come in!  We need 25 of you to volunteer for 2 hours this coming Sunday to gather just 20 signatures for each of the candidates.  If we can meet this goal\, Ed will have his minimum # of 500\, and the governor will be well on his way to the 1500 he needs from DuPage. \nAnd\, remember\, family members and friends can also do this with you…many hands make light work!  Please come!  You will be making a huge difference for our candidates\, our township\, and the Party we all love!  And\, we will have a notary on hand when you return to the Panera who will notarize your signature and we can give the completed petitions to the candidates or their reps at that time. \nPlease bring a clipboard\, two pens\, and wear comfortable shoes.  If you have an NTDO name badge\, wear it.  It’s going to be sunny and 50 degrees! \nPlease RSVP to Dianne (dianne@napervilledemocrats.org\, or 630-420-8502) so we know to expect you. \nThank you! \nDianne McGuire\, NTDO Chair\, and Brenna Conway\, Quinn DuPage Coordinator \n

SUMMARY:Petition Drive for Congressman Bill Foster
DESCRIPTION:I will be setting up volunteer meet up opportunities to walk door to door collecting signatures for Congressman Foster on the next 3 Saturday mornings\, and I’ll be walking neighborhoods a few weeknights each week from 5pm – 7:30pm. If you want to join me\, I’d be happy to meet up.\n \nOur first big volunteer meet up will be Saturday\, October 26 at 9am at Einstein Bagels\, 22 W Jackson Ave\, Naperville (downtown Naperville). The Congressman will be there to rally the troops!\n \n\n\nWalking doors with targeted lists of registered voters is the best way to collect valid signatures. I walked a Naperville neighborhood on Wednesday night and was able to hit 56 doors and collect 25 signatures in 2.5 hours. I’m trying to make very compact and efficient turfs.\n \nPlease feel free to forward this email or info about the Saturday\, October 26 volunteer meet up to your contacts\, and please let me know if you’ll be joining us.\n \nThank you so much!\n \n—\nKurt Gonska\nBill Foster for Congress\n\nCell: (708) 717-8517\nkurt@billfoster.com
