So I see that Positively Naperville has got a few straw polls up regarding the April 7 Naperville Mayoral<\/a> and City Council<\/a> elections (results of past rounds here<\/a>). \u00a0They’ve put up a fair amount of\u00a0information on the candidates here<\/a>, with the candidates’ answers to questionnaires, etc. \u00a0PN acknowledges that online, participant-driven polls are unscientific<\/a>, but hopes they’ll be useful and interesting nonetheless:<\/p>\n

\"straw-poll_PN\"<\/a>Over the course of January, February and March, several straw polls will be conducted with each one starting over, seeking a new sample of approximately 750 to 1,000 voters, always hoping to limit the margin of error of what\u2019s trending in the local voting population.<\/p>\n

Still, nothing, nothing, nothing is official or scientific about PN\u2019s straw polls. \u00a0Our guidelines have come from statisticians\u00a0who use statistical methods to collect and analyze data\u2014 and we\u2019ve welcomed their suggestions to acquire the best random sample possible.<\/p>\n

Let us remind readers again PN\u2019s straw polls are absolutely unofficial and unscientific; \u00a0yet, we do absolutely think every educated vote in this election is kind of a big deal.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
