A notice from NTDO Chair Dianne McGuire<\/a>:<\/p>\n

I would like to announce that I will not be seeking a fourth term as Chair of the NTDO. In 2010 when\u00a0Chair Tom Wronski asked me to consider running for the position, I already knew the energy, the time,\u00a0the desire, the hard work it would require: I had been observing Tom for four years! I stood on the\u00a0shoulders of those who came before me\u2026like former NTDO Chair, Bill MacLeod\u2026 and did my best to\u00a0continue to build the organization\u2019s presence and success within Naperville Township.<\/p>\n

I have been proud and honored to have served with so many wonderful leaders within the NTDO,\u00a0individuals who have served as precinct committeemen, volunteers, and fellow officers. We have\u00a0canvassed our precincts, marched in parades, held amazing fundraisers, organized many candidate\u00a0presentations, phone banked, poll watched, participated in community service, recruited and supported\u00a0many candidates.<\/p>\n

With adequate financial resources in place, many dedicated elected and appointed precinct\u00a0committeemen and volunteers, meeting room accommodations throughout 2016 in place, a website\u00a0and a Facebook page that are both maintained in a highly professional manner and an impressive data\u00a0base of supportive individuals \u00a0throughout the township, I believe I am leaving the NTDO well positioned\u00a0to move forward. There are many experienced leaders within this organization, leaders with extensive\u00a0contacts within the Democratic Party, who will, I am sure, step forward to provide the leadership\u00a0necessary to help keep our momentum going in the right direction. I am announcing my retirement as\u00a0chair at this time to enable those who might consider stepping forward to have time to consider this\u00a0possibility and to provide for a smooth transition at the election on April 28th.<\/p>\n

I would like to announce at this time that the current elected and appointed officers of the NTDO\u00a0Executive Board will also not be seeking another term of office. It\u2019s time to pass the baton<\/a>, as Barack\u00a0said recently in Argentina<\/a>, to others who will, hopefully, bring new perspectives, fresh energy and\u00a0commitment to the organization.<\/p>\n

It has been an honor to have your support for the past six years as Chair and I look forward to continuing\u00a0to cover Precinct 67 and to cheer on the efforts of the new board. May 2016 be the best year yet for\u00a0the Democratic Party\u2026 here at home, county-wide, across the state, and, of course, nationally!<\/p>\n

We take a baton. And sometimes when we take the baton, we’re behind in the race. And we don’t always choose the circumstances when we get the baton. The question is, for our leg of the race, did we advance the causes we care about? Did our team gain ground against the challenges that we care about? And on that front, I believe we have achieved that.”<\/p><\/div><\/blockquote>\n
