My father-in-law used to say, “If you want to be big, don’t be small.” \u00a0I’ve been reminded of the wisdom of that quip recently in connection with a certain highly visible public figure. \u00a0And I was reminded of it again just now\u00a0in listening to\u00a0Michelle Obama’s powerful and moving speech in New Hampshire the other day.<\/p>\n

At about the 13-minute mark she tells the story of a 6-year-old boy who informed his mom that Hillary Clinton will be our next President. \u00a0Mom asked why he thought so, and he said,\u00a0“The other guy called someone a piggy, and you cannot be President if you call someone a piggy.”<\/p>\n

Michelle says,<\/p>\n

So even a 6-year-old knows better. A 6-year-old knows that this is not how adults behave. This is not how decent human beings behave. And this is certainly not how someone who wants to be President of the United States behaves.
