…even if this newest version of the travel ban was written more carefully than the first one, make no mistake about its intent. Like the administration\u2019s immigration crackdown, its stated justification is secondary. What it\u2019s really about is creating a particular kind of America, one that shuts out the \u201cwrong\u201d kind of people and sends a clear message to the world that if you aren\u2019t the right race or the right religion, we don\u2019t want you. That\u2019s what the Trump administration is after, and so far they\u2019re doing a pretty good job of it.<\/p>\n

This is not the country we want to be. \u00a0It fails to live up to our principles.<\/p>\n
