The NTDO has offered\u00a0candidates<\/a>\u00a0in the\u00a0April 9 Municipal Elections<\/a>\u00a0an opportunity to address our readership. \u00a0Here’s a message from Ron Allen, candidate for Naperville Township Trustee:<\/p>\n

I am Ronald \u201cRon\u201d Allen and I am a candidate for Naperville Township Trustee.<\/p>\n

I have lived in Naperville for 8 years. I am married, father of three adult children, and six grandchildren. \u00a0While pursuing my undergraduate studies, I worked for the Chicago Public Library and \u00a0the U.S. Post\u00a0Office. After graduating from college, I worked as a high school business education teacher before\u00a0taking a position with the Allstate Insurance Company. My career with Allstate spanned 42 years\u00a0working as a claims adjuster, senior account agent, and eventually an agency owner. \u00a0During my career\u00a0I committed myself to community service and did volunteer work with several nonprofit organizations in\u00a0various executive roles. I was elected Board Chairman of a large national industry association.<\/p>\n

This April, the election offers an excellent opportunity for the residents of Naperville Township to\u00a0make a strong statement that \u201cNow is the Time for Change\u201d. I am running for the office of Naperville\u00a0Township Trustee because I am committed to providing our township with strong governmental\u00a0leadership that will be progressive, responsive, and inclusive. The residents of Naperville Township\u00a0deserve nothing less!<\/p>\n

My goals will be to establish within our Naperville Township government the tenets of A.C.T.\u00a0(Accountability, Communications, and Transparency). Good government should have a strong core built\u00a0around these three elements, but presently our township government has been found lacking in these\u00a0important areas. If our township is to successfully move forward in the 21 st century, we must address\u00a0these inadequacies. We must implement an action plan that provides us with a strong foundation for\u00a0offering quality township services today while positioning us for planned future growth.<\/p>\n

I am uniquely well suited for the position of trustee because I served in executive positions which\u00a0required me to perform duties similar to those required of a trustee; and I established a reputation for\u00a0consistently exceeding expectations and commitment to quality service.<\/p>\n
