{"id":993,"date":"2013-05-24T12:29:16","date_gmt":"2013-05-24T17:29:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/napervilledemocrats.org\/ntdo\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=993"},"modified":"2013-05-24T12:31:47","modified_gmt":"2013-05-24T17:31:47","slug":"governors-day-at-the-2013-state-fair","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/napervilledemocrats.org\/ntdo\/event\/governors-day-at-the-2013-state-fair\/","title":{"rendered":"Governor&#8217;s Day at the 2013 State Fair"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/napervilledemocrats.org\/ntdo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/maingate.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"maingate\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/napervilledemocrats.org\/ntdo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/maingate-300x53.jpg?resize=300%2C53\" width=\"300\" height=\"53\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/napervilledemocrats.org\/ntdo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/vendortop.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" alt=\"vendortop\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/napervilledemocrats.org\/ntdo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/vendortop-300x53.jpg?resize=300%2C53\" width=\"300\" height=\"53\" \/><\/a>The 2013 Illinois State Fair runs from August 8 through August 18.\u00a0 While each day brings new events, competitions, and attractions, the focus for us is <strong>Governor&#8217;s Day on August 14<\/strong>.\u00a0 While Governor Quinn attends much of the Illinois State Fair, this is his day to host special guests, including former Illinois Governors, and it&#8217;s our day to join him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/napervilledemocrats.org\/ntdo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/infobooth.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"infobooth\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/napervilledemocrats.org\/ntdo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/infobooth.jpg?resize=111%2C174\" width=\"111\" height=\"174\" \/><\/a>For those of you who have not attended, here is an idea of what you can expect.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, August 13<\/strong> &#8211; Many of us go down the night before.\u00a0 The Illinois Democratic County Chairman&#8217;s Association (ILDCCA) gets special room rates at nearby hotels.\u00a0 There are a number of receptions that day including the reception sponsored by the Democratic Collar County Chairs at the Crowne Plaza.\u00a0 Some get down early and go to the Illinois State Fair.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/napervilledemocrats.org\/ntdo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/PQ-Headshot.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" alt=\"PQ Headshot\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/napervilledemocrats.org\/ntdo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/PQ-Headshot-300x274.jpg?resize=83%2C77\" width=\"83\" height=\"77\" \/><\/a><strong>Wednesday, August 14<\/strong> &#8211; The Governor&#8217;s Brunch is held at the Crowne Plaza hotel and begins at 8:30 AM.\u00a0 If you do not come down the night before, please allow at least 3 hours to drive down there.\u00a0 The brunch features a keynote speaker and speeches by Pat Quinn, Lisa Madigan, Sheila Simon, Jesse White, Mike Madigan, and John Cullerton.\u00a0 Attendance is usually between 1,200-1,500.
