2018 World Peace Day
Sunday, 1/7/2018 @ 2:00 PM
Plans for the 2018 World Peace Day Interfaith Prayer Service are well underway. This year the service will take place on Sunday, January 7th at 2:00 pm at the Wentz Concert Hall on the campus of North Central College. The theme is “Galvanize for Respect, Dignity & Faith” (see attached flyer.)
Speaking at the service this year are three local activists that exemplify the thrust of our theme; the need to mobilize and act to put our faith values into practice at all levels of our lives.
- Mr. Cristobal Cavazos is the co-founder of Immigrant Solidarity of DuPage, a group that advocates for immigration reform, protecting immigrant rights and defending immigrant workers from wage theft.
- Ms. Sadia Covert is the author of the Illinois Hate Crime Bill and founder of UCARE, Uniting through Cultural Awareness and Regional Education
- Ms. Kathy McBane is the co-founder of Moms Building Bridges, a local Naperville group that works on building an inclusive community that celebrates our rich diversity.
