Gun Violence Solutions Summit

Saturday, 4/28/2018 @ 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Students Speak Up

Gun Violence Solutions Summit

On April 28, join other student leaders from the Chicagoland area at North Central College at a bipartisan, student-organized summit to discuss how to advocate for safer schools and communities. Invited panelists include local and national elected officials, gun violence prevention groups, and medical and legal experts to help discover solutions
that we can advocate for. Afterwards, student walkout leaders and advocates will help lead roundtable discussions for social and political activism. After all, when it comes to our lives, everyone deserves a seat at the table.

Groups such as Everytown, Indivisible, and others such as those are being invited to talk about their work. Also to be
noted are groups that represent marginalized voices, especially within the context of inner city violence.

Current elected officials, from the school board to the city council to state reps to Congressmen and Congresswomen are invited to provide insight on how the legislation and discourse is being processed currently.
