Petition Signature Arithmetic: 25 * 20 = 500 in 2 hours
For those of you who didn’t receive the eVite for Sunday’s festivities, here’s the message from Dianne and Brenna:
Hi everyone!
We have an opportunity this coming Sunday to truly make a difference!
Governor Pat Quinn will be announcing his choice for Lt. Governor later this week, leaving him just under a month to gather up to 10,000 signatures to place him on the ballot.
Ed Agustin, our Precinct Committeeman of the Year 2012, is our candidate for State Representative in District 41, Darlene Senger’s old district, which will be an open seat since she has decided to run against Bill Foster. And Ed needs a minimum of 500 signatures to place him on the ballot, with another 500 for insurance purposes!
Obviously, neither of them can do this alone and this is where you come in! We need 25 of you to volunteer for 2 hours this coming Sunday to gather just 20 signatures for each of the candidates. If we can meet this goal, Ed will have his minimum # of 500, and the governor will be well on his way to the 1500 he needs from DuPage.
And, remember, family members and friends can also do this with you…many hands make light work! Please come! You will be making a huge difference for our candidates, our township, and the Party we all love! And, we will have a notary on hand when you return to the Panera who will notarize your signature and we can give the completed petitions to the candidates or their reps at that time.
Please bring a clipboard, two pens, and wear comfortable shoes. If you have an NTDO name badge, wear it. It’s going to be sunny and 50 degrees!
Please RSVP to Dianne (dianne@napervilledemocrats.org, or 630-420-8502) so we know to expect you.
Thank you!
Dianne McGuire, NTDO Chair, and Brenna Conway, Quinn DuPage Coordinator
