Special Educational Event – CyberBullying
The Women for Chapa LaVia Coalition
Invites you to a Special Educational Event
CyberBullying
On February 11, 2017 Mayoral candidate and current State Legislator Linda Chapa LaVia will be hosting a free educational event on the topic of cyber bullying.
Raising emotionally healthy children begins at home. In turn, this can prove to be challenging for many parents, especially as they are managing their families, careers, and children’s educational requirements. Therefore, we’ve invited Cynthia Gamboa, who for over six years worked at the Elementary and High School levels on the Eastside of Aurora. As the Youth Program Coordinator, she has seen first-hand the emotional harm of cyberbullying and has worked to empower students and parents with effective prevention and awareness tools.
Parents will learn: Building a non-anxious and healthy home environment; How to identify the different types of bullying; When to intervene and how to empower your children. Parents will also receive a handout that includes links and resources discussed throughout the presentation.
