New Absentee Ballot Rules in Illinois

You can now apply on-line for an Absentee Ballot in Illinois.  Here’s the memo the Election Commission sent around a few weeks back:

January 22, 2014

Illinois recently enacted Public Act 98-0115 enabling any registered voter to initiate the vote-by-mail process by applying on-line. The online process does not require the voter’s signature and completely takes the place of the traditional hardcopy application. Additionally, voters in Illinois no longer need an excuse or reason to vote absentee in person or by mail.

The on-line application for DuPage County registered voters can be found at:

www.dupageco.org/Election/Voters/41942

An individual who wishes to vote by mail may complete the electronic application online. As soon as the ballots re available (40 days prior to the election) a ballot and instructions will be mailed to the voters who have applied either online or submitted a completed hardcopy application.

Please disseminate this information to all voters.
