Quinn: A Government of the Many, Not the Money
…in my in-box this morning from Governor Quinn (Here’s some background on the issue to which the Governor is referring):
Steve: A few billionaires are trying to buy their way into Illinois politics.
Ken Griffin, a hedge fund mogul and the richest man in our state, just donated a record-breaking $2.5 million to my Republican opponent Bruce Rauner.
I worked hard to pass historic campaign contribution limits in Illinois to avoid this exact kind of abuse of our democracy, but Bruce Rauner has broken those limits wide open.
Illinois is not for sale — and we need to make that clear.
My opponent has a check for $2.5 million from one person. I have thousands of supporters like you.
Chip in $2.50 or more right now to show that our grassroots campaign is stronger than a handful of billionaires:

Our government should be of the many, not the money. That’s what is at stake in this election.
Thank you for standing with me.
