New College of DuPage law firms have ties to new board chairwoman
Moments after a newly elected majority assumed control of the College of DuPage board of trustees, the bloc hired two law firms with ties to new board Chair Katharine Hamilton — a decision that has brought accusations of hypocrisy and cronyism against a slate that had promised to reform the embattled school.
What’s more, the deals appear to have been in the works before the new trustees took office.
I’m sure it’s all completely above board. After all, we’ve got a (ginned up) crisis to deal with. No time for fine points like “transparency” or the Illinois Open Meetings Act.
